Day 1 | Nairobi | You are met by a Nature Expeditions representative upon arrival at JKIA. You will be taken to Karen Blixen Museum, where you can immerse yourself in the history of the famous author of "Out of Africa." Afterward, proceed to the Giraffe Centre to interact with these gentle giants, feed them, and learn about their conservation efforts. Day 2 | Nairobi | After breakfast, drive to Kiambethu Tea Farm. Have a cup of tea or coffee while the history of the farm and the process of making tea is informally explained, followed by an opportunity to see tea in the field. Then take a walk in the indigenous forest with our resident Kenyan guide who will identify the plants and explain how they are traditionally used. Look out for the Colobus monkeys close up and wander in the gardens which are home to a wide variety of birds and flowers. Return to the house to enjoy a pre-lunch drink on the verandah with sweeping views across the tea fields to the Ngong Hills. Lunch is served at about 1 p.m. and is a three-course buffet lunch from our set menu prepared with vegetables from the garden and desserts are topped with cream from our herd of Channel Island cows. Day 3 | Ol Pejeta | After breakfast, check out and drive to Sweetwaters, Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including all the big 5 animals among others. Explore the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, an extraordinary refuge dedicated to the well-being and conservation of these primates. Day 4 | Lake Nakuru National Park | Breakfast, check out, and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive. It is best known for its thousands, sometimes millions of flamingos nesting along the shores. See the notable game within the lake including hippos and clawless otters. Day 5 | Lake Naivasha | After breakfast, you'll delve into the world of winemaking with a visit to Leleshwa Vineyard in Naivasha. Here, you'll enjoy a vineyard tour, learning about the wine production process and tasting some of the finest Kenyan wines. It's a delightful and educational experience set against the backdrop of the scenic Naivasha region. Later in the afternoon, drive to Lake Elementaita Weavers, where you can explore the traditional craftsmanship and artistry of local artisans. Day 6 | Crescent Island | After breakfast, check out and drive to Crescent Island Sanctuary. Take a boat ride to Crescent Island and enjoy a nature walk on the Island, a crescent-shaped peninsula. This nature walk allows you to get up close to various animals, including giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and a myriad of bird species. Day 8 | Maasai Mara Game Reserve | Spend the day on game-watching with morning and afternoon game drives. Wildlife is abundant in the Mara Reserve with the gentle grasslands ensuring that animals are never out of sight. Birds are prolific including immigrants. The big cats - lion, leopard, and cheetah - follow the wildebeest, essentially their main source of food, into the Mara. In the evening, engage with Maasai elders to explore into their profound knowledge of local plants and their medicinal properties. Day 9 | Maasai Mara National Reserve | After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive and witness Africa's incredible wildlife which includes The Big Five.
